What are your COVID-19 preparations?
Here are some of the ways we plan to move ahead to ensure our groups are safe and healthy on our tours:
- We will have hand sanitizer available in the car and at the tour stops
- Have hand washing stations at the farms
- Masks are recommended but not required on van and tours
- Extra masks will be provided for the comfort of our guests
- Frequent cleaning of all shared spaces
- Group size will be limited to under 14 people
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Dress comfy! We will be walking on a farm, getting dirty. For our farm tours we recommend closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty (old sneakers/hiking boots). If you have mud/rain boots for bad weather days, that’s great. Please bring a water bottle and sunscreen/ sun protection.
WILL WE EAT? WHERE WILL WE STOP?
Yes! All tours include tastings at some of the farms and snacks along the way at 3-4 locations. Select tours also include lunch. Check out individual tour details for more information, each itinerary will be sent to you the day before. We can not always anticipate the availability of the farmers and season but will do our best to accommodate your requests. We partner with local producers who make amazing food that we can not wait to share with you. Drinks, including water and sparkling water, are available along with alcohol paired with food.
All meals, drinks, and tastings are included in the tour price.
All meals, drinks, and tastings are included in the tour price.
CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE GUESTS WITH DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?
Of course. Please notify us in advance of any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate.
WHAT SERVICES ARE INCLUDED IN THE COST?
We are a one stop shop. We handle all the details for you, so you don’t have to! We also believe that the best way to support our local food producers and growers is by purchasing from them! We don’t ask or receive anything for free, we are committed to keeping our dollars local! All money goes to the farms for their time and the food you eat along the tour to help support the local economy.
ARE YOUR EVENTS FOR ALL AGES?
Our tours are for all ages (please email us for youth ticket pricing). If they require a car seat please bring that with you on the van, the back is also full with coolers so we do not have room for multiple strollers. We do offer alcohol on the tour so please be prepared to show your ID. We have non-alcoholic drinks available and can create custom tours that have no alcohol served.
HOW LONG DO TOURS LAST?
Tours last typically between 5-6 hours. Start time is at 10:00am. There we will leave the meeting spot and head out to our first destination. Check your confirmation email for the specific start time of your tour.
CAN I BUY STUFF?
Yes! All our partners have products they sell, it’s how they support themselves and their families. Not every farm takes credit cards, so having some cash is handy. We have a cooler in the van so you can store your food till the end of the tour as well.
ARE THE FARMS ORGANIC?
Most farms are not Certified Organic, but all practice sustainable agriculture. Our farmers live on their land, use zero (or extremely low) amounts of pesticides, don’t use growth hormones, and only use antibiotics when the health of the animal is in danger. One of the main parts of the tour is getting to know your farmer and understanding their philosophies.
HOW MUCH WALKING WILL THERE BE?
You'll be on your feet for a lot of the day walking the farms but there will be time to sit during tastings. Be prepared for uneven surfaces, mud, and a good amount of walking. Please let us know in advance if you require special accommodations.
HOW MUCH DRIVING WILL THERE BE?
Most farms will be 10-20 minutes apart, with a longer drive at the start and end of the tour. All tours have been programmed to be with in a hour radius of Portland. The drive will be a great chance to talk about what’s ahead, learn about flavor profiles and the farms, and get to know each other.
CAN I BRING MY PET?
Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on our tours. We visit working farms with animals and cannot bring your pet with us.
HOW CAN I BOOK A CUSTOM EXPERIENCE?
Email me at [email protected]. I will work with you to build an experience unique for you and your group!
ARE GRATUITIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Gratuities are not included, but greatly appreciated!
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We understand that life happens and things come up. For online tours, you may cancel up to 72 hours in advance for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours of the start time will be issued a 50% refund or you can reschedule your tour.
I WANT TO START EATING LOCALLY. HOW DO I START?
We recommend Food Roots, which works to make finding and buying local food easier. Food Roots' FarmTable Storefront and online marketplace connects the community and its visitors directly to local food from our region's farmers, ranchers, fishers, and other food producers.
