Calling all cheese lovers! Visit three local creameries and share in their passion for artisan cheeses and the individuals who create them. Meet the goats and cows, and learn about how they care for the welfare of their animals. Stops are based on availability of the farms and seasonality. We try to accommodate your priorities and send out the final itinerary three days prior.
STOPS MAY INCLUDE:
- Schoch Dairy and Creamery will take us on a tour of the creamery, get a chance to pet the cows and see the chickens while tasting delicious cheese.
- See the art of cheese making at TMK Creamery. Learn about modern agriculture, the milking process, feeding and cow nutrition. They even make vodka to go with your cheese.
- Marion Acres will take you on a guided tour to see the animals, their operation, their new marketplace and hear about sustainable farming poultry farming.
- Fraga Farmstead Creamery creates goat cheese from traditional creamy Chevre to age raw milk cheese. (Depending on availability)
- Derrik Josi, forth generation farmer of Wilsonview Farm, will introduce us to their 400 Jersey Cows, teaching us about honest farming and what makes a happy cow. Their milk goes into Tillamook cheeses that we will taste later on the tour.
